How We Store Your Data

Encryption Standards

All data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit. This ensures your sensitive law enforcement data remains secure at all times.

Storage Location

All data is stored within AWS U.S. commercial regions. We do not transfer data internationally, ensuring compliance with U.S. law enforcement requirements.

Access Controls

Access to your data is strictly limited to authorized, background-screened personnel. We use multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls (RBAC) to protect against unauthorized access.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained only as long as necessary to provide our services. We will delete your data:

•Upon your written request to support@chuqlab.com
•At the end of your service contract or subscription
•When required by law or regulation

Sub-processors

Chuqlab uses the following trusted third-party services to provide our platform:

•AWS: Cloud hosting and infrastructure
•Supabase: Database and authentication
•OpenAI API: AI transcription and translation
•Postmark: Transactional email delivery

CJIS Alignment

Chuqlab implements CJIS-aligned controls to support law enforcement agencies in maintaining their compliance:

•AWS U.S. commercial region hosting
•Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls
•Background checks for all staff with data access
•Encryption at rest and in transit
•Detailed audit logs and regular security reviews

Note: Chuqlab is CJIS-aligned, not CJIS certified. Agencies retain their local CJIS compliance duties. For specific compliance questions, please contact your agency's CJIS Systems Officer.
